    I have installed this plugin on my site and I would like to have all of my items listed as thumbnails in columns and either the name of the item on under it or if you hover over it. But I’m getting all of the items listed down the page and the name of the item on the right. Am I missing something? Or is there a special code for this? Or is it my WordPress template that won’t allow this? I am using Socrates Theme and they do have different page options but I’m using the default page for this. I’ve tried changing to different page templates to see if that would fix it and it didn’t. Please help.     I think I figured it out. I didn’t have categories. I hope this works! Will let you know.

    Hello simplytangerine for every item you add to CataBlog Library you should assign a category to the item to have more control and be able to create groups of items using a category. Once you assign a category to the item added to the CataBlog Library then you can use the shortcodes that @macguru2000 and I pointed out above adding the category you created.

    Remember when you edit the item and select a category or add a new category to save your work.

    Please read all the documentation at the support blog, there you will find that the Library and the Galleries are two very different things. A gallery has its own [catablog_gallery] Shortcode, which has a completely different set of parameters than the standard [catablog] Shortcode.

    I’m going insane. I thought by fixing the categories this would work and still nothing!

    Ok. I needed to type it directly into page as suggested. Done! Thank you! Now it’s working.

    Yes, and that’s wonderful, I feel like a lot of the experience you gained setting up CataBlog will transfer to other plugins and WordPress in general.
