Gallery Block Images – Problem with Captions

In the Settings column the Default Style of a Gallery Block Image shows a caption beneath the image on a white background.

But the editor and published page has the captions inside the images.

The rounded image style shows correctly.

Is the Gallery Block broken or is this the way it is supposed to work ?

If this is working correctly then it is unsatisfactory for visually impaired people when the images have a high white content. It is worse on tablet screens.

Also the Settings Style thumbnail is incorrect.

Maybe there needs to be switch so the user can select for a caption inside or outside the image.
