Gallery arranging images vertically

    I am having issues with images in a gallery arranging vertically instead of horizontally. It is also showing smaller and not full size even though I set the image size to “full size”.

    In my older posts, the galleries seem to be arranging properly and horizontal. However if I publish an update to that older post, it will become vertical as well. It appears like this on both desktop and mobile.

    Could anyone help with this?

    Do you happen to have a link to a gallery that’s displaying correctly? I checked a handful of older ones but they must have been some that you had already updated, they were showing in the same vertical layout for me.

    Thanks Mimi, that’s really helpful. The block editor is still a work in progress, constantly evolving, and it looks like this particular post is using the old gallery block markup that is no longer used by the editor.

    I just tested this on the latest version of Kale (free), and the new gallery block displayed correctly with images aligned horizontally, etc. There’s likely something on the site adding some CSS that’s affecting the layout, but right now SiteGround Optimizer is combining all of your CSS so I’m not really able to tell which CSS is coming from where. It may be worth either deactivating the plugins one by one until you find the culprit, or turning off the optimization to see if it can be tracked down that way.

    I was using the child theme – can’t seem to remember why I did that in the first place. I reverted my site back to the original Kale theme and the gallery is displaying properly now. Thank you for your help!

    I am having an issue with gallery rendering images vertically, irrespective of the layout in when creating the post. When I publish, the gallery layout disappears. I am using Pena theme and WP 6.1.1. Even old gallery pages which previously were fine are now vertical. I am still learning so please treat me like an website novice, and take me through any recommendations very slowly!

    Your best bet is likely going to be reaching out to the author of your Pena theme, and providing them with a link to the post in question…this should enable them to track down the issue and point you in the right direction to get it resolved.
