Gallery and image list empty after upgrade to 2.0.79

    I upgraded from 2.0.27 to 2.0.79 and everything broke:

    1. Front end gallery pages showed “no images”
    2. back end gallery lists are empty
    3. When i create new gallieries, the directories appear in the “gallery” folder, but the new galleries don’t appear under “galleries” in dashboard.

    Nothing works anymore.

    I have uninstalled the new version and then copied over the backup of the 2.0.27 folder, and everything worked again.

    I am running WP 4.2.1
    I have disabled every other plugin, but 2.0.79 still is broken.

    Any ideas on what is wrong?

    @dsutton01 – Does your WordPress database user have *ALL* privileges?

    That was the problem. I enabled “All privileges” and problem is solved. But isn’t that dangerous to give my wp database all privs? Does it allow hackers to do more damage if they get in?

    Anyway, thanks for the help – glad it’s working.

    @dsutton01 – Although technically you may not need *ALL* privileges the differences between what you do need and *ALL* is not significant … also to note, having *ALL* privileges is also very common.
