• Hi there,

i want to include an image gallery into my site, so googled and read the support boards and finally decided to use Gallery 1.4.1 (gallery.menalto.com). It provides everything I was looking for esp. the sub-gallery-function…

Unfortunately it requires PHP?′s safe-mode to be turned off and my provider doesn?′t allow that…

So I?′m desperately looking for an alternative similar to Gallery…

    Thx A lot
    Kahuna

P.S.: Please don?′t tell me to change my provider… I have my reasons and this isn?′t a real option.. ??

Hey wow, thx for the fast answers…
Hehe first Coppermine URL was also interesting… ?? Right now coppermine seems to be my favorite.

What I?′m looking for in detail:

    – Possibility to create different top-level-albums/categories with some sub-albums/categories
    – a listing of them as index-like-page
    – defining user rights for each sub-album
    – uploading a whole folder with images via FTP and having the rest generated automatically…

To be honest, I?′m quite a newbie to wordpress, php an all that serverside-stuff but nevertheless, I want it to be look good… ??

So long, I?′ll go on sseking…

    I forgot_

    – a comment-Function to the pictures would be great too…

    Meanwhile, i`ll check your suggestions…

Or wait a bit for RumGallery by RummandDan which is new and on it’s way and looking v??ry promising. I looked a bit here and there and to me his alternative seems to be what I was looking/waiting for. But all systems work, so look at some examples by people using them to find out what y?3u seek.

    I like coppermine =)

Let me plug photostack real quick.

It looks real nice, and is easily “hacked” to fit in with your sites look.

It can be used in “simple” mode too ….
I deleted the entire admin directory and I just edit a text file and upload files …. works just fine.
