  • I just checked a few random galleries and they open just fine. Do you still have problems opening them in your browser?

If yes i recommend either clearing the cache/temporary internet files.

Yes still got the problems tried what you said deleting all cache internet files etc and used google chrome and the new win10 browser but still doesn’t open them.
    weird ?

edit just tried on my phone browser too and still wont open.

Just tried again from a different system, galleries still load fine (screenshots linked below).

    Snap 2

There doesn’t seem to be an issue with the galleries at all. Do you, by chance have any browser plugins (script blockers like NoScript) installed, or a software firewall activated? Both might interfere with displaying websites properly.

Hey seems to be a bug in the plugin not rewriting the & sign in the titles and causing the gallerys not to open. You can not just change the name at this point that doesn’t rewrite the database slug. The only way I figured out how to fix the existing gallerys was to go in to the database and change the slug name for those non working gallerys and remove the &- in those names (Note if you are not familiar with editing your database I wouldn’t recommend this but it is the only way I found to fix it without deleting the whole gallery) and renaming it and re uploading the images.

Hope this helps and the plugin author looks in to this a little closer. It used to work ok at doing this but seems the latest updates may have broke something here.

Crikey not what i needed to hear Joesparky but appreciate the heads-up i am certainly not familiar with database in fact don’t think i have ever seen one :/ and if i did its by mistake.

If the author updates his plugin could this possibly reverse it back to a working state?
    thanks

Not really sure if fixing things in the database is necessary at all.
First step would be to rename the Galleries in WordPress. Change the title and remove the ampersand from it, then save the changes and see if the link on your gallery page gets updated.

Well as I posted above that will not fix the problem Toto me and my programmer already tried all that we just didn’t want to spend the time diving in to someone else’s plugin to try to fix the whole thing as the person who wrote it could probably find the problem quicker. The only 2 ways we got it to work where what I posted and told him to do unless the author finds a way. You stated above you didn’t find any not working on this guy’s site but I went there and found a few doing the same thing as ours was doing and seen he had used the & sign in his and told him what he could do to fix it outside of waiting for a reply from the author. Hope this helps anyone having this trouble till we get a better fix.

    Thanks

Yeah, i tried a number of galleries which opened just fine. Had another look at it after i posted and came across a gallery with the ampersand in it ??

Anyway, will try to reproduce it on my NextGen install and see if there’s a way to solve it without having to mess with the database directly.

Sorry if i started something here but i appreciate all your help

Nothing started kev we are both just trying to help you out brother. Hopefully the author will chime in with a updated fix. Shouldn’t be hard to reproduce Toto I had mine doing it every time after I figured out what was causing it.

Hey kev looks like the plugin author has recognized the problem this is what they posted back to me in the post I posted.

we have an update soon to be released that should help resolve this error with the permalinks. Once the update is released (hopefully within the next week), please follow up here in this forum thread with your results. Thank you ??
