Something has broken in NextGen Gallery! The “Galleries” tab still appears in my wp admin area, but the only option is “Manage Tags” – and if I click that, it tries to load and freezes! There are no galleries listed! I had 37 galleries. When I look at my site in FTP, I can see that all the folders are there and all the pictures are there. But WordPress won’t recognize them – even if I deactivate all other plugins!

I have a backup but its from May and I’ve added a significant number of pictures since then. All the folders appear to be there though. Should I re-install NextGen? Is there anything I can do to salvage this? Or get it back working?

@av8nlvr – This is generally due to a conflict with another active plugin and usually requires our external Reset Tool plugin to correct.

Please send a Bug Report (https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/) with your site specifics so we can get you this plugin and explain how to use it for this issue.

    Thanks!

@av8nlvr – Thanks! I just sent a reply with the external Reset Tool plugin attached.

Well, I did that. Its better, BUT. all the pages open correctly, the site loads faster, all the options are visible again under the nextGen tab BUT…it says I have NO galleries. 0 images, 0 galleries. The images are still showing up in the directory but NextGen does not see them. How can I fix this?

@av8nlvr – The external Reset Tool plugin would not create this issue, but lets keep the conversation in the Bug Report line for the time being so we do not lose track of anything.

    Thanks!

Ok… I found a workaround. I looked at my database and it was saying the table was missing. The NGG tables. So I took a backup copy of my database from 5 days ago and restored it – now everything works.
I guess its still a bug though, I do not know what caused everything to go away.

@av8nlvr – There is currently no functionality in NextGEN Gallery that would remove a database table … this is a serious issue but I am not certain there is much we can do to help with it at this time.
