    Hello,

I found out that when using ny Lightbox plugin the Jetpack galleries are not displayed correctly and instead, when ever I click on an image in a gallery it opened in a new window.
    See here for example:

How can I fix this issue?

    Thanks,

    Udi

    Hello Udi,

I see the Carousel opens correctly when I click an image, but then it redirects to the file location in your site’s library. Jetpack does not do that, so it’s likely being caused by another plugin.

You mention a lightbox plugin. Does this stop happening if you disable that plugin? Else, can you try deactivating all plugins except Jetpack, one at a time, until it stops happening to narrow down which plugin might be causing this?

    Hello @kokkieh

Indeed, when I disable the Lightbox plugin the gallery shows up as it supposed to.
I’ve tried 4 different Lightbox plugins, all with the same result.
So it can’t be that 4 Lightbox plugins are bad.
Can you help identify what’s causing it?
Or does Jetpack have a lightbox feature to open images on same screen?

does Jetpack have a lightbox feature to open images on same screen?

Yes, that feature is called Carousel, and is currently working properly on your site. I think you could consequently remove all other lightbox plugins and give the Carousel feature a try.

Let us know how it goes!

    Hi Jeremy,

    How are you?
Does this feature works with single images as well?
    Or only with galleries?
As would like that single images would be pop-up as well.

It works with single images as well, as long as you’ve set the single images to like to the attachment page when you added the image to your post:

Ok, that worked, but now I’ll have to go on all my single images and change the setting ??
Is there, by any chance, a tool that can do that for me?

And now, also after disabling the lightboxes, the gallery doesn’t work for me.
I can’t disable all plugins in order to check it as many plugins have settings and displayed in specific places and they will disappear from these places.
This would be a mess for me.

Any help trying to help me find what’s causing it, will be highly appreciated.

    Thanks!

I am afraid I do not know of such a tool or plugin.

the gallery doesn’t work for me.

It seems to look good on my end in Chrome:
    https://cl.ly/pzjX

I do still get redirected away from the Carousel view when I click on an image. Jetpack’s Carousel view loads quickly, and then I am redirected to the file.

Do you have any other gallery or lightbox plugins installed on your site right now? If not, can you check if your theme offers that feature out of the box?

I do not have any other gallery or lightbox and I’ve disabled both lightbox plugins.

At this point, I am afraid I can only recommend that you deactivate all plugins, one at a time, to find out what is causing this. You can also try switching to one of the default themes for a few minutes to make sure this redirection is not caused by your theme.

You could start by deactivating the Jetpack plugin to confirm that the issue happens without our plugin as well.

Let us know how it goes.

    Ok, Jeremy, thanks.
I’ll work on it and get back to you.

So I’ve tested with the default theme with no success.
If I’ll disable Jetpack the issue won’t happen as the galleries are part of Jetpack. Isn’t it?

The redirection issue isn’t a standard gallery feature, and it is not handled by Jetpack. It could, however, be caused by a conflict between Jetpack and another plugin on your site so you could try to deactivate Jetpack for a little bit and see what happens.

If the problem remains, you’ll know the issue is not linked to Jetpack.

    Hi Jeremy,

So I’ve disabled Jetpack and the galleries stopped working.
So I’ve decided to test everything on my staging site.
I’ve compared all plugins to be identical and updated like on the production site.
When testing the staging site the galleries are displayed as it supposed to.
See here for my staging site:

And here for the production site where the issue is still there:

    What can I try next?

    thanks for your help!

    Really appreciated.

I assume you are referring to the tiled galleries. When you deactivate the plugin the galleries should still be displayed, just using the default thumbnail grid. Is this happening on your site? If so, what happens when you click on the images?

    What can I try next?

Short of disabling all plugins, one at a time, I’m not quite sure what we can do. I see your lightbox plugin is still active though. I would recommend that you deactivate it, since it is not used anywhere right now.

Let me know when it’s done and I will take another look.
