Galleries are not attached to album

I have exactly the same issue since upgrading the WP 5.5.
As an integral function, I hope a fix is on the way.

I found a workaround for this issue. Downgrade your site to WordPress 5.4.2 using WP Downgrade and you will be able to add new galleries to a gallery group once again

I have a more recent idea – you just need to click on its name when choosing a gallery and everything is inserted
