Ga4 via GTM fires before consent

  • Hi,

    I’ve set up an GTM Container and imported the settings from the Complianz tutorial. I also setted up the statistics trigger in GTM for my GA4 tag. Unfortunately the GA4 cookies are still loading before consent is given by user. Can someone help me with that?

    Thanks for reaching out, and my apologies for the delayed response as we’re currently handling a backlog of tickets.

    I checked your site and noticed that the cookie are being placed prior consent because the Google Tag Manager container isn’t fully configured, specifically missing triggers for each tag. Please refer to Point 3 of this guide to see how to properly implement the triggers: https://complianz.io/definitive-guide-to-tag-manager-and-complianz/.
    Once the triggers are set up, cookies will only be placed after consent.
