Hi, we added the Google Listings and Ads plugin to our site a week ago. And after that all metrics in GA4 disappeared. All transactions, clicks and realtime metrics. As soon as I disabled the plug-in tracking is working again. I suppose the plugin adds a tag? How can we disable this – is it via the Google Ads connection? Would it help deleting this in the connections? We have setup tracking with GTM4WP and TagManager and it worked AOK until we added the plugin.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Thank you for reaching out, @attracted — we’re happy to help!

We have setup tracking with GTM4WP and TagManager and it worked AOK until we added the plugin.

I went ahead with visiting the site at https://barentsoutdoor.no/, and it appears the plugins mentioned above are activated alongside Google Listings & Ads (screenshot linked here, for reference)and, functionality conflict results in the experience reported in this thread.

Just to clarify, are you trying to replace GTM4WP and TagManager, or otherwise?

If otherwise, what is the goal, moving forward, so that we can better be of assistance?

    Thank you.

    Hi, thanks for following up.

Not looking to replace GTM4WP or TagManager.

My main goal would be to keep our conversion tracking and set up as is – but using Google Listings and Ads for the product feed.

Tracking works again after disconnecting Google Listings and Ads from Google Ads in the settings – do you have any suggestions as to what we should do to use Google Listings and Ads with our current setup?

I am in the same situation. After a couple of meetings with an official Google Tag Manager technician, he told me that we have detected that the Google Listing and Ads plugin generates a very simple datalayer, which, together with the GTM4WP datalayer, duplicates events. The problem is that the GTM4WP datalayer is considered by Google technicians to be official and more complete. The Google Listing and Ads datalayer is NOT.

The Google technician suggested that I contact you, the Google Listing and Ads support team, to request the functionality to enable or disable the datalayer generated by your app, so that we can choose whether to use it or not. Could you please add this functionality to enable or disable the datalayer?

Hi @attracted, have you had a chance to check this pinned thread with more details about tracking for the EEA, UK and Switzerland region? Are you in one of those zones? This may be related to it.

Hi @stelistech, thanks for the additional details. Maybe the issue lies with the conflict with GTM4WP, that’s an interesting insight. We don’t currently have an option to enable or disable the datalayer. That’s an interesting suggestion, though.

We appreciate your suggestions and are always looking for ways to improve our products and services, and input from users like you is invaluable.

    Hi there ?? ,

We haven’t heard from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved. Feel free to start a new thread if you have any more questions.

    All the best,
    Omar

Same problem here, I have just installed Google Listings and Ads and had GTM4WP installed providing DataLayer details to GA4. GTM4WP has much more detail for analytics and since installing GLA it’s broken.

I’m getting duplicate add_to_cart (one using the ID of the product and the other using the SKU of the product, SKU used by GTM4WP), and at purchase it’s using the GLA DataLayer with less details as thats the event fired first.

I have made a temporary fix editing ./src/Google/GlobalSiteTag.php and commenting out the Tag insertion
