    My GA4 data is not displaying even though i can see the data when i am on my GA4 analytics. I do not have the option to toggle to the GA4 dashboard and i have tried it in troubleshoot mode and still the same. I also have the most up to date version of Site Kit so i am a bit stuck as to what to do!

    Thanks for opening a support topic @dbuckenham. Based on you not being able to toggle between the GA4 and Universal Analytics (UA) dashboard, please share the following and we can hopefully determine what may be happening:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.??
    2. Do you see any warnings or errors when checking your Site Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information requested above? Such errors may include REST endpoint references.

    What may be happening based on other reports and the checks you performed, is that some background checks are not working as expected on your site. If so, the GA4 reporting feature possibly not pushed to your site. We’ll know more once we have the above information.

    Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

    Thanks for sharing @dbuckenham. From reviewing the details I can see that you don’t have the GA4 reporting feature enabled (ga4Reporting: ?) , which may be as a result of some background checks not performing. Can you share your Site Health status as requested previously (Tools > Site Health > Status), as this includes details of any issues with background checks. This differs to the Site Health information which you already shared.

    After sharing your Site Health status I can check this further with the team.

    Hi James, in regards to the background updates, here is what comes up! Let me know if there is anything else you need! Thankyou

    Background updates are not working as expected

    Background updates ensure that WordPress can auto-update if a security update is released for the version you are currently using.

    • Error The WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE constant is defined as false
    • Error All automatic updates are disabled.
    • Passed No version control systems were detected.
    • Passed Your installation of WordPress does not require FTP credentials to perform updates.
    • Passed All of your WordPress files are writable.
    • Error WordPress security and maintenance releases are blocked by define( 'WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE', false );

    Really appreciate this update @dbuckenham. The background updates certainly may explain it. While your background updates issue isn’t specific to Site Kit, you may need to define the below:
    define( 'WP_AUTO_UPDATE_CORE', true);
    define('DISABLE_WP_CRON', true);

    These can be defined within your wp-config.php file, however, caution must be taken for any such changes.

    It’s also possible that you have a plugin active (such as RSFirewall) that is blocking these background updates (which include adding the latest Site Kit features). Before making any changes to your wp-config file, can you check if you see the same results from your Site Health status if you temporarily disable RSFirewall?

    Just to keep you updated on this @dbuckenham, we’ve been discussing this issue and there may be another way to force updates so you do get GA4 reporting enabled. In order to try this, please follow the steps below:

    1. Install and activate the WP Crontrol plugin
    2. Navigate to “Settings > Cron Schedules” and click on the “Cron Events” tab
    3. Scroll down to the googlesitekit_cron_update_remote_features hook event and click on “run now”
    4. Share your Site Health information?once more so I can check if this manual action forced the update to enable the GA4 reporting for your site.

    After performing the above, you may also wish to check do you see the option to switch between your GA4 and UA dashboard. You’ll find this within your Site Kit settings.

    Let me know how you get on with the above.
