I embedded Google Analytics tag using another plugin. Google Site Kit detected the right property **68-3 but is trying to gather data for property **68-1. There is no feature available to correct this.

  • Hi @josch87! Thanks for your report. This looks like a bug, so I’ve opened an issue for it on our repository. Feel free to follow it. I’ll also follow up on its progress.

Optionally, Site Kit can insert the snippet/ tag for you (edit the settings and remove your current snippet). You’ll be able to select the correct property from there. I’ll keep you updated if you prefer to use your current method though. Thanks!

@josch87 we’ve just released version 1.1.0 and advise updating. While we’re still addressing your particular issue for a permanent fix. We’ll keep you updated on the progress of the issue being resolved.

Unfortunately I did not hear back from you that the issue is fixed and merged into master.

Problem still exists using WordPress 5.3.1 and Site Kit by Google 1.1.3

@josch87 Thanks for the update. There is no open issue in relation to this unfortunately, and I am unable replicate the issue from my side. Having said that we can create an issue for you after further investigation.

The property you are mentioning which is incorrect refers to the “Property Name” from within your Google Analytics account, as opposed to the actual tracking ID (UA-xxx). Can you change the name from within your analytics account before disconnecting the Analytics module and connecting again?

There is no open issue in relation to this unfortunately,

Are you refering to issue 837? The current status is “open”. @reneesoffice was able to repliacte the issue.

I am not quite sure what you mean by “refers to the “Property Name”. There is currently no output for the property name at the plugins backend.

    • I changed property name of **968-3
    • I disconnected Analytics from Site Kit
    • Reconneced. Wrong property again: https://prnt.sc/qafqf1

@josch87 Thanks for the update. I will keep checking from our side, apologies on the open issue. By “Property Name” I was referring to the name within Google Analytics, I can see you’ve changed that. Feel free to add your input to the GitHub issue, and I will keep you posted here once we have any updates.

Having the same issue. Choose the correct property from drop down in the GA setup but it is generating code for a totally different UA-ID property. Using the latest version of the plugin.

@caldiatech could you open a new support topic per forum guidelines. We’d be happy to address your particular case there.

@josch87 could you update to the most recent version 1.2.0 and reset the Analytics connection (Go to Site Kit > Settings > Edit > Disconnect Analytics from Site Kit then go to Connect More Services and connect Analytics again)? Please let us know if this resolves the issue.

@reneesoffice Everything is working as expected with 1.2.0. Thank you very much.

@josch87 thanks for the update and glad to hear it is resolved! Feel free to leave a review about your experience with Site Kit.

Seem to have the same issue. As soon as I connect up the Site Kit plugin with analytics and Tag Manager, I get two different UA-IDs, and only one of them is ours. Version 1.3.1

I had the same issue and found this thread. The problem was that disconnecting the Google account wasn’t enough. After disconnecting, there’s a button for resetting the Site Kit, which does the trick.

    1. Disconnect from Google Account.
    2. Reset the Site Kit.
    3. Connect to Google Account.
    4. Connect to Analytics.
    5. You get to select the Account, Property and View again.

If you omit phase 2, you won’t get to phases 4 and 5, but Google Analytics will be already connected.
