    Hi ??

The Google Pay and Apple Pay buttons no longer appear! It was my client who alerted me, I didn’t even realize it and I don’t know what recent update caused this! Although I haven’t changed anything on the website, I carried out routine checks: deactivation of all plugins except Woocommerce and Stripe Gateway, I also replaced the theme, I tested from several devices but in vain… I put the website in wp_debug mode and no errors.

I waited late at night to switch to test mode and bingo the buttons appear But as soon as I put the website back into production mode + clear the cache, they disappear again
What do you think I can do?!
    Thanks in advance

  • Hey there, @aminogfx! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

    Thanks for the detailed troubleshooting.

I just checked your website and the Google Pay button is showing on my end (I don’t have Apple Pay enabled on this device, so it not showing is actually expected).

    Here’s a screenshot:

You mentioned you were able to see it on test mode, is the site on test mode at the moment?

Have you tried different devices to see if you are able to see the buttons on them?

Can you share a screenshot of your Google/Apple pay settings so we can take a look? I recommend using https://snipboard.io. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Hi @aminogfx,

Thanks! Please let us know how it goes with the test. If necessary, please also share screenshots of your Google Pay and Apple Pay setups.

Please also note that Apple Pay is available for all?countries supported by WooPayments, but Apple Pay will only appear for customers who use an?eligible device?with an active Apple Wallet.

Additionally, Google Pay will only appear for customers who:

    1. Are?logged into their Google account?via their browser.
    2. Have?a payment method?added to their Google account.

I hope this helps so far!

    All the best,
    Omar

    Hi @aminogfx,

Thanks for the screenshot. Have you been able to test this and confirm it works fine for you? Please keep in mind the considerations in my previous reply for Google and Apple Pay to display.

    All the best,
    Omar

    Hi Omar,
After a short investigation and several tries it turns out that the Google Pay and Apple Pay buttons never appear on Firefox, which is my default browser! What’s curious is that even on certain devices with Chrome, we don’t see them either.
I was able to see them on an iPhone 14 pro, on a Galaxy S8, on a Samsung tablet, On an Asus Desktop but not on an S10 and 2 desktop Pcs! Obviously, all these devices have G Pay activated and the user connected.
I deduce that it’s due to a recent update of Woo Stripe Gateway or Google’s API, it’s disconcerting.
Thank you very much for your responsiveness and professionalism ?? I will mark this ticket as resolved.
Very good luck to you all.

    Hi @aminogfx,

Yes, both Apple Pay and Google Pay use browser and device-specific technologies. For example, Apple Pay requires Safari on MacOS or iOS, while Google Pay works on Chrome, Firefox, and most of all other available browsers. If you’re using a different browser or device, the buttons may not appear as expected. A current list of supported devices and browsers can be found here:

    Thanks!
