• Anyone knows something about the File eXchange Protocol (FXP) ?
I need to move TONS of data (circa 7 Gig…) from one server to another, Anyone know of a cript / method/ client that would do that without involving me downloading folder per folder with FTP . ??

  • flash FXP supports FXP (obviously)

both servers have to support that method though, and VERY FEW web servers do.

Its simpler, if you have shell access, to just use scp

thanks, I was kind of hoping there is some script to bypass restrictions.
Thanks for the link for SCP I was unaware of the existence of such a protocol.
Unfortunately, I do not have shell access on ONE of the servers (one of the reasons why I move)…
And again I come to the original request of some script that activates this service or shell command without actual access.

there isnt a scripted solution to bypassing server restrictions like that.

If you have shell access on the new server, then just use ftp from the cli.

I’ve heard of a new solution for such cases,
    check out Safe-T
it is installed on your server and can access FTP and other remote locations and pull your data from there,

you can also send large files to any recipient
on your mail client like outlook !!! that’s cool

    and there’s a web GUI also …
