• I am using RSS import to upload a bunch of articles is her any way that I can upload a RS S import file and have word press publish the articles at a predetermined time?

The way it is now they’ll publish instantly.

Maybe there is a better way to upload several thousand articles?

• Are you using RSS Importer? If so, try changing line 133 of rss-importer.php, which currently reads:

$post_status = 'publish';

I haven’t tested this, but I would think changing it to “pending” would prevent all the posts from being automatically published.

What if the content you’re importing already has the future dates? Wouldn’t that metadata be preserved and the post would be imported as “scheduled”?

Thanks kgagne

I followed your advice and it works just as you predicted now if I could figure out how to automatically get them to post at a scheduled time or interval.

If I include the
it will show that as the published date but doesn’t automatically publish it at that time which is what I would like to be able to do if possible.
But at this point I have no idea how to accomplish this
What I’m actually trying to do is publish a book so I am uploading a chapter at a time. I’m creating a RSS feed in Notepad and uploading it.

I’m not really sure. Maybe try changing “pending” to “scheduled” — just a guess.

“scheduled” does not work.

“pending” seems to be the best option at this point once you upload them you can go in and publish as desired.
