Future event commenting

  • Is there a way in Sportspress to enable comments on future and upcoming events?
    I’ve noticed that commenting is allowed only events that has already been. If trying to comment future event (event that hasn’t happened yet) page goes to white blank site mysite/wp-comments-post.php

    That’s a good question! I believe WP itself locks this. I’m going to check with our dev team if there’s any way around it.

    There is also a comment at the end of the post which mention that it worked in Sportpress!

    Thanks, now i can comment on future events.
    Only 2 minuses that i have found.

    First:
    When making a comment, now it directs me to this window:
    “Oops! That page can’t be found.
    It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try one of the links below or a search?”
    But when i go back and refresh site, the comment is shown there.

    Second:
    Comments posted on future events are not showing in latest comments widget

    As for the wrong URL, probably it has to do with this line:
    wp_safe_redirect( $location );

    The recent comments widget probably excludes the scheduled posts from its search, so you’ll need some custom code for that as well.

    Overall this is considered a customization, although it would be a great addition to our plugin. Please consider adding it to our ideaboard:
