    Hey there,

Glad you are liking the plugin!

Where does this link show up on your site? Is this a link on front end of your site somewhere? I can’t help debug the issue without somewhere to look and the ability to replicate or see the issue. The url goes nowhere and appears to be a misrendered link from a url in a cache folder, which shouldn’t really appear anywhere.

The plugin shouldn’t have any effect on your links, menus, etc – the scope of what it modifies is very limited. Sometimes moving scripts to the footer will break functionality on a site (some scripts need to be placed in specific locations).

Let me know, happy to help!

    Thanks,
    Joshua

Thanks for the quick reply, Joshua!

The link is shown on the search bar. basically, when the plugin is activated, the link will be changed to the longer one as given in the last message.

It seems like the plugin may not be compatible with swift performance lite (cache plugin).

I have re-activated the plugin just now –

If you can provide more insights on whether your plugin does the same thing as another cache/ optimization plugin, or if there is any setting that I need to pay attention to on the cache plugin, it will be much appreciated!

    Hey there,

Sorry, but I’m not seeing a search bar on your site where this link would be showing up. It definitely sounds like there’s a conflict with the caching plugin of some sort, but I’m not familiar enough with Swift Performance Lite to know what that plugin is doing to your links.

When you say “the link shown on the search bar” are you talking about the address bar in your browser? If so, is that when you’re within the admin and have submitted or clicked on something on the admin side?

If I go to https://howtolookpretty.com/ everything appears to be working fine without any reference to the link above. The front end of the site looks to be okay.

    Thanks,
    Joshua

Thank you for the quick reply and trying to solve the problem, Joshua!

The link I referred to is shown on the browser for any visitor. not on the Admin.

I do notice that there is “no funny link” anymore after I activated the plugin this time. It seemes the website is still cached though. i.e. FB chatbox was deleted more than 1 hour ago even if the cache through CDN/cache plugin/browsers were all deleted. And at the same time, the site is not secured again.

I am not sure what caused it but if you can share anything you see it will be really appreciated!

No worries, happy to help out if I can.

I would guess there was an issue with the cache. Generally speaking, anytime you activate/deactivate any plugin who probably need to clear your cache(s). Depending on how the caching is set up, it might take time for things to propagate/rectify (namely, if there are things in the CDN or cached outside of your server).

When I look at your site, it appears like Scripts to Footer is active and working as expected (jquery in the head, all other scripts in the footer). There is a Facebook skd.js script that is in the head as well. I’m guessing whatever theme/plugin is placing that there is not using the wp_enqueue_script standard method.

It’s possible that the Facebook chatbox requires a specific script order/placement and may not work with scripts in the footer. That said, I didn’t see anything else that looked explicitly to be related to Facebook or a Chatbox in the source.

Unfortunately, there’s not a lot more I can do to debug the issue at this point. If you find behavior with the plugin that is unexpected or have any other issue, please feel free to reach out.

I also work freelance, so if there are items outside of the plugin support (custom integration, etc), I’m happy to connect outside the forums and discuss.

    Thanks,
    Joshua

    Hey there,

I hope you were able to resolve the issue. Since it’s been radio silent for 2 months, I’m going to mark this topic as resolved. Feel free to reply, email, start a new topic, et cetera if there are any further issues or questions!

    Thanks,
    Joshua
