Funny Call To Skype in Footer of all pages

Hello There

I have removed the skype from my Profile and now i no longer have the call

Russel please dig in to this and see if you can get a fix ??

Hi Mark,

If you include a Skype link then there is a feature to check your status which can show you are online or offline on Skype

So if you put in markdescande/status as your Skype name then it will load the script https://download.skype.com/share/skypebuttons/js/skypeCheck.js to check your status.

Am I right in saying that the ‘minor bug’ if that the skype check script should only be loaded if you enter your Skype name as markdescande/status rather than markdescande as in the latter case the Skype check script loading is redundant?

This is what i would love ??

1) Remove this skype check script and only have it as a link

So let Skype do its own thing and let the website only show a link to skype

Skype: yourskypename

So then the plugin don’t have to add more code, dont forget if you have skype instaled on your PC it will most of the times pick up that it is a skype link on a website

I did the following change in AuthorSure 2.1 released on Feb 17th 2014.

So apologies for the delay in updating here/

If you use your Skype name without the /status you just get the link. (which is the solution for you)

Only if you use your Skype name WITH the /status it loads the Skype javascript (which may be useful for others)

I have tested the new version and it is working well but i have not tested the Skype part yet
