Fundamental WordPress Theme Released

  • After testing it for 2 days on my test blog , finally Fundamental theme is ported to WordPress. Originally developed by Martin for Typo this is one simple yet elegant theme which am sure will impress you.

    Description:
    This theme is meant to take advantage of the entire browser real estate available to it by making the sidebar utilize the remaining width. This makes it an especially interesting theme for blogs which have lots of content in the sidebar that expands horizontally.

    Apart from this it really a minimal theme ( compressed file size 9KB, uncompressed size 13KB approx).

  • A bit too small horizontally IMO, but that’s REALLY nice.
    Heck, all of those are!

    I guess it could use another 100 pixels or so, but overall it’s clean. In the feeds buttons, are the gray shades at the top-right corner deliberately inconsistent with the main menu? This does not seem distrating though and I am no designer either…

    I have ported the theme and kept it close to original. Maybe some can just change css a bit to suit their needs.

    Regarding grey shade I didn’t understand , it would be good if you can provide screenshot with mark to explain the problem.

    If its not a deliberate design I would try to rectify the same.

    Hi KaushalSheth, I like your theme, but without *any* criticism, nothing will ever change and the messages from us would be pointless. *smile*

    Allow me to elaborate. I actually think I could as easily retract my suggestion. What I meant to say is that the buttons along the top are not perfectly consistent. They have a certain ‘fold’ at the top-right corner, which is nice. The background colour of that ‘fold’ is grey for the feeds, but not for the other menu items. This looks fine, but is still subjective.

    Excellent theme. Great work. Keep it up.
