I’m sorry but I’m getting the feeling that you haven’t even read post/question…are you trying to tell me that these cookies are not by wordpress itself but by some themre or plugin? I know for sure that at least two of these ARE by wordpress itself.

I have been through all you mentioned above and used the tools etc., my problem here is not how to get compliant. My problem is that wordpress which I built my website on deploys cookies that I have to declare to my visitors and provides zero info about what these are and do.

Everything you mentioned in your answer does absolutely nothing to change that. Helping me write a privacy policy doesn’t solve this issue. And unfortunately not everyone building a website with wordpress is a developer. I’m not.

So I’m asking one more time: Can someone who knows code and knows or can figure out the function of these cookies please help me?

tk cookes are not set by WordPress core.

Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

Interesting you say wordpress core doesn’t set tk cookies, then it must be another Automattic component since they do mention tk_ai and tk_qs in their cookie policy (https://automattic.com/cookies/)

I was hoping not to have the site down as no site=no business, and thought someone out there has the answer ?? but will do if I absolutely must.

I have the same issue on all the websites that use Jetpack. There are a bunch of tk_* cookies set on them and they are extremely poorly documented what they contain and do.

In the Cookies page of Automattic you will find:
“tk_ni / tk_ai / tk_qs Gathers information for our own, first party analytics tool about how our services are used. A collection of internal metrics for user activity, used to improve user experience.”

Well… all that could mean anything.

There is an option to turn general analytics off in Jetpack, described here and here.

However i do not know if that way you can get rid of all these cookies as i did not try it yet.
