• Hi
The table has multiple rows with merged cells. Because of this, the function “Offer the following functions for site visitors with this table:” stopped working.

Error : You can not enable the Table Features for Site Visitors, because your table contains combined/merged cells.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi,

thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

That’s correct and it’s the intended behavior. For technical reasons, these feature can not be used with tables that have combined/merged cells (via the #colspan# or #rowspan# keywords). This has always been the cause, but TablePress is now showing more warnings about this.

That way, you can decide whether the combined cells or the features are more important for a given table, and then use one or the other, but not both at the same time.

    Tobias

I just need to limit the number of lines to 20 and scroll horizontally.
Everything was ok before. Now and in old tables errors get out. How to return the previous version of the plugin without losing the previous data?

    Hi,

I’m afraid that you will not be able to achieve that while the table has the combined cells. The JavaScript library that does the pagination (to only see the 20 lines) and adds the horizontal scrolling is not compatible with tables that have combined cells.

This is the same behavior as in the previous version, TablePress 1.14. It has not worked there either, you just didn’t see an error message.

If you want these things to work, you must remove all #colspan# from the table cells.

    Regards,
    Tobias

P.S.: If you really want to go back to TablePress 1.14 (which will not help!), you can download it on this page.

    Hi @efimov2025,

small update: A solution to hide this error message from your site visitors is now available in TablePress 2.0.1 that I just released. Updating is recommended. For more details about that release, please see the announcement.

Please note that the proper fix still is to turn off the “Enable Visitor Features” checkbox for tables where you want to use?#colspan#?or?#rowspan#?(or to remove these keywords if the Visitor feature are more important).

    Best wishes,
    Tobias

    Hello!

Cell merge and horizontal scrolling used to be fine.
    I used “responsive=scroll” in the shortcode such as “[table id=100 responsive=scroll /]”
Now I’m getting the error and can’t make a wide table

    Hi,

this Shortcode should actually still work as before. The error must have a different cause, but I can only say more if you could please post a link to the page with the table where this problem happens, so that I can take a direct look. Thanks!

    Regards,
    Tobias
