    Hi folks

I use Xcloner for all my site migrations and love it.

But yesterday an issue came up with a site migration using Valenti theme. I have already submitted an eticket with them and provided login details.

    https://portstephenswomeninbusiness.org.au

Here is the error appearing at the top of the site
    <b>Warning</b>: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/home/bybotest/public_html/portstephenswomeninbusiness/wp-content/themes/valenti/dynamic.css) is not within the allowed path(s): (/home/pswibadm:/usr/lib/php:/usr/php4/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/usr/local/php4/lib/php:/tmp) in <b>/home/pswibadm/public_html/wp-content/themes/valenti/option-tree/includes/ot-functions.php</b> on line <b>138</b>

There is no dynamic.css file that I can find and the Valenti team said there is not one but I have asked them to check this thoroughly. I have not used this theme before.

The config file has been checked and appears correct. I have also updated all urls. I have also uninstalled Xcloner and deactivated and reactivated ALL plugins on the site twice with no change.

Any ideas on why this is happening? Help would be appreciated.

    Regards Claire

  • Hello Claire, the error message that you posted above has nothing to do with XCloner.

Unfortunately this is a theme development issue. XCloner developers have no control over Theme issues. As you mentioned above, you have installed XCloner on all you websites and it works well except on this particular website where you are using a new theme, which happens to be causing the issue you pointed above.

Please let us know if they resolve your issue.

    Kind regards

    Hey mbrsolution

Thanks for the response and yes I guessed that was the case. In fact I thought it might be an Option Tree issue and someone on the WP Australia site said the same. I have posted below their feedback and let the Valenti developers know.

Now to see if I can fix it or if the Valenti can.

“From the looks of that error there is an issue with your server setup and open_basedir. You can usually get around this using either .htaccess or php.ini. Checkout this link for some ways to get around that. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/13291185/open-basedir-how-to-set-for-specific-directory/13291257#13291257

Also, I thought it might be worth noting that your theme is using Option Tree and from the looks of it it’s bundled inside your theme and their Devs might not be aware that it’s actually triggering the openbase_dir issue.”

    HI again

Well the theme developers have come back saying it is a server issues and wished me good luck. I have copied below what they said. They have not outlined anything that they have tried to fix the issue.

“The theme does include Option Tree as this is what powers the theme options panel, but it is meant to be used this way and no one has ever had a problem similar to this for Valenti.

It really does seem to be an issue with your serever setup and open_basedir as the person from the forum said, and after trying the fix the issue, if it still doesn’t work, try downloading the htaccess to your pc (for backup) and then delete it from the site and see if that fixes it, it might be sever specific data in the htaccess that is causing the problem.”

Really not very satisfactory I feel.

This is now outside my area of expertise and not sure what to do next. Might see if I can find a cpanel expert to have a look at it for me. Luckily this is a site I have donated to my local business women’s group and not a paying client.

If you have any suggestions or clear instructions on how I can resolve this I would appreciate it.

    Regards Claire

Hello Claire sorry to hear about this issue. And unfortunately for you the theme developers cannot help you if they say it is a sever issue.

The only solution for you at the moment would be to ask your Host administrator to look into the issue at hand stated by the theme developers. The other option would be to use another theme that works for you.

I think the later mentioned above would be the best for you.

Can I ask you to mark this Support Thread as resolved because it really has nothing to do with xcloner.

However if you need more help and or advice you can always contact me by clicking my website link.

There are also other areas here in the support forum that will be able to provide great support from the community.

    Kind regards

    HI there

Thanks again for your support. And yes will mark it as closed. It is now looking more like a theme issue. But you are correct it is not an xcloner issue.

    Regards Claire
