Functionality Query

I want to be able to schedule email messages to send every week even if there are no new posts. The messages will contain performance metrics based on data we collect for the recipient. I will populate this information directly to MailPoet (hopefully) via a shortcode. The documentation suggests that this should be possible.

Before I spend any time developing the shortcodes, please advise whether there some way I can bypass the need for new post content for the scheduled emails to send every week?
