Function to Update Role from Front End

  • Hi,
    I currently have two levels of users and require a method of automating the change from WordPress ‘User’ role to my custom ‘Promoter’ role.
    Currently the user requests an upgrade and then I email the editor who has to manually update the user in the dashboard.
    How can I automate this so that a registered user can click a link which will change his role?
