Function Request – Group CSV upload

    Hi, I added this to the Github space as well, sorry I wasn’t sure where to suggest this idea?

    Would it be possible to include a CSV upload of User Groups? I work for a University and we have large cohorts that peer review work in groups. The user group setting is perfect for what we need, however creating 50 groups and managing them is a bit tedious. Was wondering if there is a csv file upload of groups and group management in the pipeline?

  • An interesting idea, but not one we’ve got in the pipeline. Automating user group management for large organizations seems like a better fit when built as a separate plugin or WP CLI command that works with Edit Flow. There might be some folks in this forum who have already done that work and could assist you. If not, you could roll your own plugin or WP CLI command (or have someone to do it for you).

    I’ve tried to make some headway on documentation in this Github branch, but I’ve gotten stuck in the mud with trying to figure out where to host them. Working on it at the moment, hopefully be able to make keep pushing on that branch soonish.

    There’s also a section on editflow.org that deals with extending Edit Flow that might be useful.

    For what it’s worth, the developer behind wp-cli was one of the original creators to Edit Flow, so if you get real bogged down and you absolutely need something built asap, could always look at contracting with him.
