Full width static feature image BELOW site logo & navigation

Hi there….

I’ve been looking for hours now on how to put a full width (edge to edge) feature image on my homepage. I have the sample genesis child theme. The only solutions ive found were getting a header logo image above the navigation which is not what i want to do.

I am looking to put a full width static feature image below my logo and navigation area and before the content on my home page.
