• I operate a WordPress website and through visual composer most of the rows are full-width – perfect for mobile and laptop, but on desktop they stretch far too wide.

I tried to implement a media query but found it difficult to select the right elements.

Is there an option somewhere, or does someone know the correct elements to target in custom css so that after a certain screen-width then a white border just continues instead?

It is entirely theme dependent. Often a max-width rule applied to the right container is all that is needed. If you can provide a live link to a page demonstrating the issue, along with an indication of what elements you want limited to what width, someone can likely make a suggestion. Otherwise, you should identify your particular theme’s dedicated support forum and ask there. The theme devs and expert users who monitor such forums are in the best position to help you.

Here we know a little of many things but are masters of none ??
