Full width not working?

I’ve successfully turned off the text of the left sidebar and the background color has changed to white from black, so there’s effectively nothing there. I’ve also checked the “true full width” box on the editing window for the page, however the page content still starts indented as if the toolbar was still there. Is there a setting (perhaps in Twentyfourteen General Options?)I’m missing?
