I am testing out the mega menu with my site & have some questions.

    1) I read thru the documentation & saw that the menu 100% reflects the themes menu structure. In order to get this max mega menu to be full width of the entire viewing screen is there any way around that within the plugin? Or would I essentially need to rebuild the themes menu structure to be full width so that this menu reflects that?

    2) The mega menu allows for a text widget which is great. However, I have noticed issues in column formats where I have many links. Lets say it is 8 links, so that I want my drop down menu to look like:

text widget | text link 1 | text link 2
nothing appears here | text link 3 | text link 4
nothing appears here | text link 5 | text link 6
nothing appears here | text link 7 | text link 8

So to do this, I have added blank text widgets where the “nothing appears here area”. However, the issue is that when the text widget has too much text then the line height between text link 1 & text link 3 becomes too tall.

Are there any options with the menu plugin for this?

    Hi,

For 1, if it’s just the sub menu you need to change the width of (so that it ‘breaks out’ of the menu container), please see the “Dynamic Width” section here:

    https://www.megamenu.com/documentation/adjust-sub-menu-width/

2, the widgets will be output in the same order and on the same row as you see in the mega menu builder. To get the layout you’re looking for, you would need to merge the contents of 1,3,5,7 and 2,4,6,8 (so that you have 3 widgets over 3 columns)

@tom thank you for the information. I will test it out & see how it goes. That makes sense with the 3 widgets over 3 solumns. So I will essentially end up manually linking the sublinks within the widget.

Lastly have you had experience with the 3 widgets over 3 columns to know if it shows up properly on mobile? Since I will essentially have 3-4 links per widget, one above the other in the widget.

    Hi verdi,

Under Mega Menu > Menu Themes, in the Mobile section, there is a “Mega Menu Columns” option. It will let you collapse all of the widgets into a single column when it’s viewed on mobile (by default your widgets will be shown in 2 columns on mobile).

    Regards,
    Tom
