Full width banner slideshow?

Is there a way to set the size of a banner so that it’s full width? I have a slideshow going in the homepage banner but there’s padding on either side that I want to get rid of. Also, if I keep the arrows visible, there’s two sets of arrows, one inside the banner and one outside the banner. Is there a way to get rid of just one of those? Thanks! Appreciate any help! I know nothing lol.
