full size image on single post

  • A newbie to the blogging game and what a wonderful tool WordPress is. Thanks to all the developers and the community at large. Just installed this on my site and I am having an issue with the images. I’ve read and read and searched google then read some more with no avail. I would like to show a medium image on the post listing page (index) and the full image on the single post page. My site is https://www.sneakersummit.com and what I’d like to achieve is similar to this site https://www.widefashion.com/category/nike-shoes/nike-air-force-ones-shoes/page/3.

    The medium image is left aligned on the listing page, and use the full image centered on the actual posting.

    Any assistance/guidance or even a plugin, I’ve read so much documentation my brain hurts and scared to make major changes at my skill level.

    You can change the image size from the HTML editor of the post in which you have added the image..also refer this link:

    I might have been unclear, but I’ve already done that within the editor. I’ve selected the Medium size when adding the post, which is what I am seeking in the index page, but not in the Single post page. If I select large or actual size then it will use that in the index page as well and that is a no no.

    I am not a programmer and have a limited php skillset, but I believe I need to enter some code into the single.php template so that it calls the full image just not sure how to write that one liner code. Can you guys please help.

    Any assistance here, I would like to use the medium picture on my post listing page (home page) but when the actual post is being viewed I would like to call the full image? Sounds very simple but It’s been few days I been struggling with this. Could someone please help or let me know if there are plugins designed to do this?
