I started using AI Engine just yesterday and embedded a full screen chatbot on a wordpress page. It looked just great. I was so pleased it was so easy. ??

Now, following the latest update ‘full screen’ is as big as you can imagine. It covers the whole browser page, I can’t see the rest of my site at all only the chatbot. So no menus to navigate away etc. Just a black screen for chat. Surely it can’t be designed to be this way, but should just fit to the wordpress page and not go beyond it? How do I change it back, or make it fit neatly in a page?

    Hi @tootingjo,

Really? Hahaha; in fact, I also came across this issue a few times, but when I reload the page, it’s totally fine. Normally, it fits the little placeholder that was made for it now though. Are you still having that issue with the latest version?

Hi @tigroumeow thanks for responding. I love your plugin so much and will get premium if this can be fixed, and get my work to use this too! I’m still at the playing around stage but have this on two password protected sites, and have tried with two different wordpress themes, but full screen is the same problem on both.

On one of the sites the chatbot was working fine, but seemed to have changed with the update. It just displays differently now. I’ve tried on my tablet too and it fills the whole screen there too. I’m just using the shortcode [mwai_chatbot_v2 id=”default”] and tried it in pages and posts. I removed the site password temporarily in case it was a conflict with that, but it made no difference.

I’m surprised it’s only me experiencing this, maybe I’m a new user doing something wrong?! ??

I have same issue, I also want to make it full screen in the colume on elementor, but dodn’t know how to fix it.

Your issue is also with Elementor, @tootingjo? Where the issue appears actually, on the website, in the admin, etc? I am asking you too @neal86, I feel like it might be two different issues.

@tigroumeow The issue for me is with the wordpress themes customizr and twenty twenty three. I don’t use Elementor. It is in the page visible to a user. I click on the menu item leading to the chat bot page and the bot fills the screen hiding the menus and rest of the site.

That said, yes, if you activate full-screen without the popup, it is actually really full-screen ?? It is made for very specific use cases. It will definitely hide everything else, there is no way around it, except if you add bit of CSS (as it will be different for every theme and set up).

Thanks for explaining @tigroumeow. It’s odd that it displayed nicely on a page, showing the site top menu before the update. I’ll have to find a work around for this through CSS then. I can’t see any use case for this chatbot hiding the whole site! It’s impossible to get out of it to navigate elsewhere, so the user experience is poor. Just my view, maybe other people like it. ??

That said, before, fullscreen was not working ?? (I mean, it was only working when used with popup/window). Now it does!

@tigroumeow the effect I was looking for, was more like the way Bard or ChatGPT display on their own pages, with menus for site navigation alongside a chat window. It was accidentally displaying perfectly that way for me before, when I was using the ‘broken’ version of full screen. ?? I’m very new to CSS and all of this, would you recommend adjusting the pop-up to get this effect, or adjusting the full screen to get this effect?
