Hi. I’m a new user of the plug-in, and first THANK YOU so much for providing it.

My issue is regarding the full-screen view mode. In the latest version of the Safari browser (running in macOS Catalina 10.15.7) full-screen maps display smaller than full-screen, with grey backgrounds around them. It looks like the map retains its pixel dimensions from how it’s normally displayed in the context of the normal page, though zooming it in full-screen does cause it to increase or decrease in size a little according to the zoom level.

I’m seeing this behaviour with maps on my own site (still in development, but here’s a sample page). Basically stock Twenty Twenty-One theme, latest PHP etc. I also see the same on all the sample maps at https://skirridsystems.co.uk/portfolio/wordpress-plugin-for-ordnance-survey-maps/

It’s probably a specific Safari issue, because full-screen works perfectly using the latest version of Chrome on the same Mac. But I just wanted to rule out that it wasn’t a specific configuration issue that would be easy enough to fix in settings (for the plug-in, or on the server etc).

    Thanks – Robin

If there’s anything more I can try out or test on OS X or iOS I’d be happy to, but I don’t know where to start looking myself. Just to confirm, using the example maps on your site:

    OS X:
Safari: Good in normal embedded view. Full screen works but requires additional click of full screen button to allow dragging. Escape key required to close full screen.
Chrome: No issues. No additional button click required before full screen drag, the button also closes full screen (and an info box appears for a few seconds after entering full screen advising Escape will exit the view – this is not visible in Safari)

    iOS:
Safari: For the first (embedded) map on the page, there is only a grey area where the map should be. Full screen button causes full screen view but still only grey display. 2nd click of button exits. Second and subsequent embedded maps, lower down the page, appear as a white area without zoom or full screen buttons.
Chrome: Ditto, except in full screen some elements of the main site (main Menu button and disclosure handles for ‘Services’ and ‘Embedded’ menu items are overlaid on the grey display)

For the brunob leaflet.fullscreen demo, that seems OK on all OS/browser combos.

    Thank you – Robin

Hello, theses are the errors I get on iOS…

Could you perhaps try something like BrowserStack to test? Should be free for an Open Source project like this – https://www.browserstack.com/open-source?ref=pricing

Do you think this is the same issue?

For now I have reverted to the previous fullscreen plugin. I may try the brunob one again later if the iOS/Safari issue can be sorted.
