Full of bugs, cumbersome, compatibility issues

  • I wish I had never invested in the WPML suite. The plugin messed up my woocommerce install. I have installed everything up to date, including all WPML plugins and WPML woocommerce. I have been developing websites for 8 years now so not a total beginner either. Examples of bugs:

    -Some products do not display on the admin pages (total catalog is 100+ products but only half of it is visible). This means that they exist, but you cannot edit them. How crazy! If I disable all WPML plugins my eshop starts behaving normal again.

    -WMPL breaks the behavior of other very useful plugins, like product filters and bulk product edit

    -WPML makes a big mess in your admin by duplicating everything. In some case it made even more versions than I asked for. If some day you decide to stop using it you end up with a terribly messy list of products, mixed up of multiple languages, and that will make your shop admin go nuts.

    I wish I had known all this before. Please think twice before giving your $ to this tool, it does more harm than good. It’s a total waste of time.

  • @haddoc – sorry for your apparently unpleasant experience with WooCommerce Multilingual.

    For what is worth, I can tell you that we’re putting a lot of effort in covering as much of the huge area of compatibility not just with WPML but with a lot more other plugins.

    Sometimes the bugs are a result of not being able to cover *everything*. However, we’re also putting a lot of effort in supporting users who experience problems using our products.

    I recommend to you, and anyone else reading this, to use our support with confidence and maybe realize that there’s a really short path between situations like yours and having everything up and running.
