    Hi folks..

I’m finally transitioning my site over to WordPress (and the people rejoiced), and I’m doing a full redesign. I use extended entries on my site, but still – having a 5-10 posts display on the main page makes it very lengthy, even when they’re not the full entry. My interest is this:

I want to have 1-2 (probably just one, but we’ll see) “full” posts displayed on the main page (everything before the ‘more’ tag, that is), and below that… I’d like to have the remaining 5-10 recent posts simply listed as their titles (and possibly the excerpt to describe what it’s about).

Now, I know how I can add a basic list of recent posts – but that will include the ones that are already displayed… which is redundant. This isn’t for a sidebar, but to be directly below and part of the normal blog flow, so I’m curious as to how to make it work. I’m not sure if there is something I can alter in the loop to differentiate the most recent post from the others, or what, but I appreciate any help/suggestions you might have ??
