We are running WordPress on a Windows 2012 R2 server with IIS 8.5

All WordPress sites are using the latest version 4.6.1

We upgraded the PHP version on the server from 5.6.22 to 7.0.9 using the Microsoft Web Platform installer.

After the upgrade, when I go to update a plugin I no longer see a “FTPS (SSL)” option in the FTP page. I tried changing a site back to PHP 5.6.22 using PHP Manager and no other change and the “FTPS (SSL)” option immediately came back.

    Has anyone else seen this?

    Thanks,
    Charlotte

I discovered that the problem was that with PHP 5.x you did not need the ‘php_ftp’ extension for FTPS connections but starting with PHP 7.x you do. I enabled ‘php_ftp’ and everything is working again.
