FTP sends corrupted file

This plugin is great except for one small thing. When downloading it from the WP plugin page, the tar file becomes corrupted. Even dropping to the commandline and running tar results in an unexpected end of file. This seems to be very reproduceable. Downloading via Filezilla works fine, however.
