FSE: Set an archive template for all child categories of X

    Hi there,

    I need to apply a certain archive template I created in FSE to all child categories of a post category. I see that by default, Full Site Editing only allows us to select one category to apply the custom archive template on.

    Maybe someone has a code snippet I could use in functions.php; or any other idea?

    Thanks to @graylaurenm for pointing out a workaround on Github, involving creating custom taxonomies and selecting the created taxonomy in the FSE create-template popup. This worked indeed!

    A workaround on your end would be to use a custom taxonomy. Then all of those archive pages would have one template while categories would have another. This would avoid a lot of complex logic by taking a more foundational approach.
