Problem: Navigation Block mobile navigation toggle doesn’t work when placed over a fixed-content Gutenslider.

I’m trying to use Gutenslider to create a slideshow header for a FSE theme, with navigation over the slideshow. I have created a slideshow with “fixed” content and added image slides. On top of these images, I have added a row with my logo and site navigation. Clicking the navigation toggle button doesn’t do anything.

I have tested and replicated this on a fresh WP install using TT2.

Is this a known issue / are there any workarounds?

I know it’s a strange use case but it would be super awesome to be able to do this.

We are here to help. But it seems you have disabled navigation + pagination on the site you need help with?

    Thanks for your prompt reply!

I’m referring to the WordPress Navigation Block. (Not pagination/arrows within Gutenslider, but I just turned those on for the sake of argument.)

Here’s a page with the stock header, set to use the mobile menu. Mobile nav toggle (i.e. hamburger icon) works. https://cbtest.instawp.xyz/index.php/sample-page/

However, the same mobile menu hamburger toggle, placed over a “fixed” Gutenslider, doesn’t activate. (The Hamburger icon is just to the right of the logo, in this example.)

Perhaps I’m screwing something up somewhere, but I’m very grateful for any insight you may have!

@asrobinson-1 I see. Usually you would not add a navigation block on top of A fixed slider, but rather add it to your page and then make the slider have absolute positioning at the very top of the site as you can see here: https://gutenslider.org/

Of course what you are trying is possible but to help you further I would need a sketch of what you are actually trying to achive. May it be possible by having the nav outside of the slider?

Thanks! I’ll try going the route you suggest. I appreciate your help!
