• Hello,

I read and understand how the FSCF can be used as a newsletter sign up form.

Where I need clarity is on the opt-in from the subscriber.

If I create the FSCF with the desired name/email address fields and set the auto responder,

how does the user do to opt in?

Restated: I understand that the user would click a link in the FSCF email to opt-in,

I’m not clear how this qualifies as an opt-in to usurp an email provider service.

Also, do the name and email address values from the newsletter form auto responder have to be passed to an email provider (aweber, et al) or is it “enough” when the user opts in and the values are passed to CFDB?

My goal here is to do away with a 3rd party email provider.

    Thank you very much.

If you do away with 3rd party email providers. How are you going to send e-mails to your subscribers?

Have you also checked the Newsletter tab in the plugin?

    Thank you

    Hello,

    Thanks for the reply.

I use FSCF in conjunction with CFDB. Data from the FSCF is stored in a table which can be exported from CFDB.

Yes, I’ve checked the Newsletter tab, thanks. As above, with the FSCF and the CFDB plugins, it would seem to render the 3rd party email provider obsolete or at least reduce dependency.

So then, back to my question, if the user clicks a link sent from FSCF auto responder, does this suffice?

I think that should work. I have never tested this myself. Can you carry out a test and report back.

    Thank you

Sorry, My question was not whether the function would work rather, if we are using the plugin in this manner, would it render the need for a mail service obsolete.

Hi, unfortunately I have never tried this myself so I don’t really know. The plugin developers will investigate further your question.

    Kind regards
