Frustrated Customer – Upload Issues/Very Slow
-
Very frustrated because I really want this plugin to work and really want to be a happy customer, but am having a helluva time with the upload process/slowness.
1. I have swapped out my current theme to the WordPress 2015 default theme. I have deactivated all my plugins except for WP All Import, Yoast SEO and the Yoast WP All Import plugin.
2. I am on a VPS with 2 GB ram. I know you guys say you are on a 4GB but I have seen other customers complain about similar issues and they were on a 7GB server. I have tweaked all my settings and should have an issue as I have set my settings from 30 and 60 seconds to 99999 seconds and increase max post and upload file sizes.
Here is the problem. I am trying to upload a decent sized csv file with 20,000 rows of data.
When I do it on the demo server it takes about 22 minutes to complete the task of 20,000 rows/pages. When I do it on my sites I am only able to do 2,200 rows or 12% in the same time period.
And that is when I am lucky and my site doesn’t give me error messages when I am attempting to upload the file and run it.
And here is the scary part…these files aren’t even an attempt to import an image into the post.
I have read repeatedly where you guys give vague answers about how each server is different, etc. I have spent many lengthy conversations with tech support over at my host (Bluehost) and they are telling me that all the settings I have tweaked should get the job done.
They don’t see any errors in the error logs, etc. So, basically I am tapped out as far as coming up with any solutions there.
Here are my settings:
max_execution_time = 99999 seconds
max_input_time = 99999 seconds
max_input_vars = 99999
memory_limit = 6000M
upload_max_filesize = 999M
post_max_size = 75MIN the troubleshooting area of the documentation section you guys write:
“Import is not finishing? max_execution_time, mod_fcgid read data timeout, and MySQL max allowed packet and query limit settings can interfere with large imports
Can’t get from Step 1 to Step 2, Step 2 to Step 3, etc? Broken PHP session settings will prevent you from being able to move between the different steps of the import process.”
What does all that mean?
I need you guys to state in plain English what my settings need to be or which ones I need to tweak otherwise I am going to have to ask for a refund. And I really don’t want a refund. I really want this to work.
But it is beyond frustrating to have lighting quick uploads on the Demo and then get nothing even close to that on my own site.
Please help!
