Frontpage works but all other pages are just black.

So ultimateseo.org is the site…it appears to load without issue….but thats just the homepage. (used gtmetrix and it could see the homepage too, so not that I’m caching it) Clicking any of the “Articles” section leads to a black, blank page. This suggests .htaccess or permalinks maybe?

Thats it.

This happened 2 weeks ago I couldnt figure it out so I rolled back to backup. But the problem has now represented.

It uses cloudflare. But if I turn that off, gtmetrix is showing the homepage still and I still get a black page for any post.

(quick note … ignore the top menu, most of those will load a different wordpress all together. Focusing on the posts so we know we stay in the installation.)

An update now…. the site is all black, eve the homepage in Safari. Homepage only works in Chrome to my knowledge.

I SSHed into the server and renamed the plugins folder. And the site started working. So I guess I have it down to a plugin…

I did run updates so one may be the issue, and explains the previous time as well. What updated today?

I’m going through and turn these off..Turning off the plugins updated today had no effect it seems.

Site Health shows a few issues but not sure theyre really important here.

I renamed .htaccess and its still a problem.

Actually solved. It was the bad bot blackhole. I had run a webcrawl of the site, I guess my spider broke the robots.txt rule and got banned. Goog to know
