I’m not seeing a demo of the frontend edit, but I see it listed, can anyone provide a link?

We have a few old tables that must remain “as is” due to the number of other things connecting to them. Once of which has an employee database with fname, lname and fullname. It is what it is.

Unless I want someone to enter in all three on data edit, I am looking for an advanced save option to say C = A+” “+B. We do this on manual PHP pages, but I’m not seeing if there are any manual SQL options here to do this on save.

Hi @grungyape,

Not sure if I understand your question correctly, but it is currently not possible to add business rules to data entry forms. This is planned to be implement this year.

Can you use the Query Builder to perform bacth updates?

I’ve not used WP Data Access yet, which is why I’m asking, so my apology for not being clear.

Just looking to confirm if we can enable frontend editing? Basically like datatables. Selected (wp role) users click an entry/menu, popup box, add new entry or edit an existing.

Next, I think you answered the second part. We have a table that has 3 fields, fname, lname and a combo fullname. We’d prefer to have users just edit the fname and lname field, then on save have the save option do a fullname = “fname+lname”

You need to create a Data Project to enable front-end editing for your tables. This is explained here:

Please be aware that front-end editing with the free version is limited.
