• Hello,

Is there a way to have a “blog page” as well as the sticky post slider front page? I usually have a static page on the home page, so am not entirely sure how themes where the front page is the blog, work. The slider is a great functionality , but would love there to be another secondary page where the blogs show up in the “blog format” as it appears when there is a static page!

    Hopefully I’m making sense!

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!

    Mike

It’s possible, but it would require some substantial modifications, since Ever After is designed to display the slider only on the blog page.

Normally, those sorts of modifications would be done in a child theme, but because Ever After is already a child theme, that’s not possible here.

    Options include:

    – forking the theme into your own version, so you would no longer update it when Ever After releases a new version. That way you wouldn’t have to worry about losing all your changes every time the theme is updated.
    – making a grandchild theme. Tutorial here: https://www.wp-code.com/wordpress-snippets/wordpress-grandchildren-themes/
    – adding a slider using a plugin, so it can be placed on a static homepage more easily, without having to make major changes to the theme.
