    Hi i am not new to word press and have developed many sites with it, but this has me buffled.
    I am not using word press as a blog.
    I have a static home page and have set this correctly. I have also put text widgets in my three homepage widgets. But i can not get these widgets to display on my front page, or any page!
    Inside my front page I have set the template to default, tho i have tried them all, none of them display the front page widgets.

    I have checked to see that everything is enabled and correct. I have even added the plug in Display Widgets and set them with this to display on the front page. Please help!

  • That means that you switched away from default template, home widgets will show only if default layout is used like this.

    What I would like to suggest is to go to Settings > Reading Settings and make sure that reading settings are set to: Your latest posts.

    Thanks for using Responsive!

    so I did that but they still did not display after i put the text widget in there.
    I also need my site to land on the about page as the home page. So how do i make that the latest post?

    Just do this https://i.imgur.com/HUp4y.png and widgets are available only on home page ??

    yes i did that but they still didnt display. I think its because im using pages, can i make a page the front page instead of a post the front page?

    Static page can be only a Front Page when Themes are using home.php or equal, post page don’t apply in this case I’m afraid.

    So you can choose any of the pages and “stick” to front for sure ??

    oh bugger your theme is really nice! Might just add some div tags to it. I did like the front widgets tho!
    Thanks so much for your help! ??

    If you’re using Child Theme you can include the sidebar for any page as well.

    Open your current home page layout, locate

    <?php get_footer(); ?>

    and add the sidebar immediately above the footer

    <?php get_sidebar('home'); ?>

    Thanks,

    Love your theme and these widgets are so much nicer and easier then div tags! ??

    You’re welcome, please rate the Theme if you can and close the topic as resolved ??
