Front Page: Sticky Post Not Disappears when Setting Filters for Blog Posts

I have it set where the sticky posts will be wider (I have only one for now). Additionally, I want to set a filter for which post categories are displayed on the front page. But when I set filters, the sticky post does not show; remove all filters, the sticky post shows up.

I did check and the sticky post is in one of the four categories I want to display.

Currently, I have filters off. I tried looking at the code and I’m not yet familiar enough with PHP to diagnose it, and it doesn’t seem to be a CSS issue.
