Front Page Sections: Display Partial Page

In the front page sections, is there a way to only display part of the pages?

Like a <!–more–> tag that will stop the content after from being displayed on the front page but full content is still displayed on the actual page.

Example: My client wants to have the gallery page as one of the front page sections, but to show the entire gallery page on the front page is way too much. I need to somehow only show the first part of the page.
