Front Page not working

  • As admin in WordPress 2.7 I go to Settings Readings and set the Front Page from the dropdown list. No matter what page I select, the home page for the site is unavailable. Also selected a posts page to display the blog and no problem with this one.

    Yesterday, I ran an upgrade although the site is the newest version of wordpress. Seemed to work OK.

    Now, once again, can not see the front page of the site. Problem exists regardless of theme selected.

    Any suggestions?
