  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the 2010 theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

    Dang it!

I reset the plugins folder by FTP. I cleared my cache. No front page still.

    What else can I do?

Maybe I did something wrong with resetting the plugins folder by FTP.

The step that says “Login to your WordPress administration menus” — does that just mean login to your blog? That’s what I did. I didn’t know where the “administration menus were.”

Is there anything special there, that I’m missing?

Also — should the plugins be deactivated when I reset my folder? Mine were.

    No – that’s fine.

Yes. Once you’re logged in, activate the Twentyten theme to rule out (or more likely, confirm) any problems in your current theme.

Oh! So that’s what you meant by 2010 theme!

Yes, I’ve installed it, and it works great. Does this mean that the problem is with my theme?

    Hi There,
I am watching this with interest, I am having the same problem, other themes work, but not this one.

Does this mean that the problem is with my theme?

I’m afraid so. The home page in your theme may use some custom functions that simply aren’t compatible with WordPress 3.0. On the plus side, your plugins appear to be OK.

Thanks for your help! Time to shop for a new theme — one of my favorite parts of blogging ?? Thank God my other 5 blogs took to 3.0 like fishes to water.

Is there any plans to fix this problem with this theme so it works with WP 3.0?

I would like to upgrade my Blogs to WP 3.0 and keep this theme.

If you can find an earlier version of this theme (v1.5 for me), it appears to function w/WP3. The author seems to have flown the coop; all links to his site redirect to his personal site which is written in his mother tongue (Catalan) and is–oh crap–hosted w/Blogger. Google translate made enough sense of his blog that it seems like he was hacked (?) and that he’s abandoned Facebook. Maybe someone else can make more sense of it at https://www.jcanals.cat/

I found a way to mimic the old behaviour….

The default static Front Page doesn’t work, like you all experienced.

instaed, go to Appearance-> Chameleon, and under Theme Layout, turn on the Home Page: Widgetize the Home Page.

Then go to Appearance -> Widgets. You will have few new areas for widget, called Home Top, Home Left and Home Right.
If you just want to have a static page with lets say some introduction, use the Home Top, insert a Text widget into it, and write your text.

Note: This will show up as a blog post style. If you wish it to show as a page style, don’t put text in the title of the Text widget. Also, use HTML with styles for your text.

    Hope this helps
